Visit Oakland

In response to global protests calling for justice for the murders of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and many more Black Americans - I led a team of creatives to send a message of solidarity. Using our owned social media channels to share directories of Oakland’s Black-owned businesses, we also connected with local photographers and content creators to share their perspectives and their work.

I also most recently helped develop a content series to kick off Black History Month that resulted in the organization’s most liked Instagram post (photo credit: Damien McDuffie and Jordan Park).

South African Airways

In addition to managing media relations and crisis communications plans for the London office of South African Airways, I also oversaw the launch of the airline’s Instagram account for the UK & Ireland.

To enhance South Africa’s brand, I led a variety of strategies to educate consumers on the Rainbow Nation’s diverse cultures, from posts sharing the many languages of South Africa to various traditions.

Noticing the ‘triptych’ photo format many top brands were implementing to tell a more sophisticated story across three photos instead of just one, I implemented the same strategy to tell a richer story about South Africa.

The resulting engagement fueled our influencer program and quickly grew the brand’s social media presence.
